The Grand Duchesses dancing

At the beginning of the summer of 1914 the Imperial Yacht “Standats” started its traditional annual cruise, this will be the last quiet holiday to Nicholas and Alexandra before the start of the First World War. Actually, riding penny farthings and other gigantoid bikes was considered extremely manly, and the more dangerous, the more manly. The bikes we all ride today were considered only suitable for ladies and invalids (that is, until it was realized that they are much, much faster).
